Casey is the Puzzle Editor at Connections Hint Today, the site's answer for anyone stuck on the daily grid before they've had their coffee. Before this, Casey spent close to four years writing for a couple of UK entertainment and trivia sites, covering everything from quiz-night questions to weekly pub-trivia roundups — the sort of writing that trains you to spot a clever wordplay trick from a mile off, which turned out to be exactly the right background for this job. Based in Leeds, Casey solves each day's Connections before sitting down to write it up, working out which category is the real trap and which decoy word is going to catch people out, before building the hint ladder around it. Outside of the puzzle, Casey's the one who always spots the wordplay first in a pub quiz, still keeps a running tally of every purple category solved without a mistake, and has strong, mostly unwelcome opinions about which categories are "real" wordplay (writes the daily Connections hints you're reading right now).
